First, while there are some chemicals used in new drywall, new drywall emits no vocs. Therefore AFM Wallboard primer is of no use as far as blocking voc emissions. It is a good primer, however it is equal to the ECOS Wall primer.Follow with two top coats of either ECOS Interior Wall & Ceiling paint or AFM Zero VOC Paint. Both are equal from a health standpoint. However, we prefer ECOS because it covers better (500 SF/gal vs. 400SF/gal) and ECOS is better at color matching major brands of paint and painters like it. ECOS Atmosphere purifying paint can also be used as a top coat as it contains zeolite that absorbs odors. The manufacturer does not make any claims about how much odor it will absorb, what type of odor it will absorb or for how long. Many people do like it, however.
