I want to paint some foil faced insulation. It was recommended that I use a water based self etching primer. I can't find one that is water based and all are very toxic. This is for my son to live in so I don't want toxic. Will this work on the metal foil that's on insulation? If so, can I cover it with regular interior paint? Thanks

According to AFM Safecoat, the foil emits nothing at all, so there isn't a reason to prime it. But, if you are still wanting to, they suggest AFM SafeCoat, Transitional Primer (Int/Ext). You may order a small sample online first to test just to make certain it adheres well.
