The manufacturers of the water-based paints that we sell, ECOS and AFM Safecoat, do not recommend diluting their paints because it changes the formula. In general, ECOS paints are a bit thicker than AFM paints and, because they are thicker, they are less likely to show brush strokes. Sometimes, the choice of a paintbrush will make a big difference in whether or not you can see strokes. And applying thin coats of paint rather then thick coats will make a difference, as well. AFM Eggshell is a little bit shinier than ECOS Eggshell. While you could use AFM's Pearl sheen for a bathroom, sheens that are slightly shinier are usually recommended.
