We have minor damage to a small portion of drywall (some paper is missing). What Green Building supplies can I use for the repair?

You can certainly go over this area with New Wallboard Primecoat. Be advised that that paperless portion is going to be thirsty, so it may require several coats and it may consume more than your average section of papered drywall.
