Yes, two coats will help block emissions of formaldehyde and most VOCs. What works better is to use one coat of AFM Transitional Primer first. It's difficult to know precisely how much it takes and how long it takes because there are many variables. Allow the Transitional Primer 24 hours to dry, then apply 2-3 coats of the AFM Zero VOC paint. Longer dry times are always better. Thin coats are always better than thick coats. Warm dry climatic conditions are better than cold and damp. The sealing takes place once all the water has evaporated which can take a week or sometimes more.
