Porcelain tile is one of the hardest surfaces and is impervious to just about everything. However, because of its hardness, standing on it for very long becomes uncomfortable. Most people use it in entry ways, bathrooms and kitchens because it is virtually waterproof and very long lasting. However, you'll find most porcelain floors covered by area rugs to provide warmth, softness and reduce the noise. Porcelain tile is sometimes made with recycled content but still has a high carbon footprint. Cork is prized for its comfort underfoot. It is highly resilient, quiet, warm and completely renewable. It is also naturally antimicrobial. Our new Amorim WaterProof Cork offers all the benefits of traditional cork flooring plus it is completely waterproof.
