If your wanting the smoothest possible look without actually spraying, just get the thinnest nap possible. And it seems to me microfiber always leaves more texture. So use a standard nap roller.
Can you recommend a roller cover type for walls and ceilings? I used a microfiber roller cover with Auro paint recently and it made an unattractive texture. SAMPLE - ECOS Interior Wall and Ceiling Paint, Untinted, Eggshell Paints & Primers
