I'm trying to remove mothball odor from closet space, either by using air purifying paint like ECOS to absorb the odor or seal in the odor with AFM Safecoat transitional primer. Do you think I could have luck with either one of these? I know it's not a guarantee, but anything will help.

None of the products we sell are meant to combat scents such as mothballs. AFM suggests you first use a shellac such as Sealcoat Waxless Shellac which you'd get at a box store. To seal that, you would then use the Transitional Primer and then finish with AFM SafeCoat, Zero VOC Paint.
