Yes, it can as long as this is for exterior use and not in a shower or other situation where the surface is submerged/has standing puddles. MDF is generally not made for high moisture or exterior purposes and therefore, we cannot guarantee this will waterproof that product sufficiently for your purposes. We would recommend our ECOS Wood Primer and two coats of exterior paint for outdoor use.
