If the bird feeder exterior is raw, uncoated wood and you are just trying to water proof that, yes. The penetrating water proofer is great at waterproofing raw wood, but will do nothing to protect the wood against abrasion or UV rays. It is worth noting that this product cannot be used in conjunction with any other product.If you want to protect the wood against Water and UV rays, a colored stain would be a better fit for your project. We recommend Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Exterior Wood Protector.If you want to protect against Water, UV Rays, and Abrasion, Priming and using an Exterior Satin Paint would be the best fit. For additional abrasion resistance you could coat you painted surface with EXT Exterior Polyureseal Clear.
