The Vermont Natural Coatings Penetrating Waterproofer is zero VOC and has no hazardous ingredients, however, it is not designed to be used in food production applications. We recommend our AFM Naturals Penetrating Oil or Bioshield Herbal Oil, both of which are food grade oils and suitable for your application. However, the wooden press must be completely dry and free of sealers in order for the oils to penetrate properly. Sanding is usually required to open the pores and clean up the surfaces.For the raft, assuming it is wooden, the Vermont Natural Coatings Exterior Penetrating Water Proofer or the VNC PolyWhey Exterior Stain would work well. Darker colors tend to block UV better than clear. Again, a clean dry surface is required before application. If the wood is grey with age, our Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner works exceptionally well.
