You can use the Caspian Clear color to coat your wood, with the caveat that it is the pigment within the stain is what will provide protection from UV Rays. Using clear means the wood will grey and age quicker, and you will need to refinish more often than you would if you used a darker color or (to get the most protection) use an exterior grade paint instead.
