There is a subtle difference between the two products. The Penetrating Water Proofer soaks into the wood and leaves zero finish. Your fence will look like raw, untreated wood unless it gets wet, and then the water will bead up on the surface. By comparison the Caspian Clear will leave a subtle top coat finish to the wood, so it will look treated, albeit with a clear coat. If you want UV protection/a longer lasting stain, you could cover your cedar fence with the Lakeside Cedar color of the PolyWhey Exterior Stain. We have samples available on all of these products and colors so you can test to get the finish you love.
