The seams of the Marmoleum Cinch Loc tiles are extremely tight. We've done tests where we pour water at the seams and let it set on the surface overnight. No water has gotten in between the tiles. If you'd like to test it yourself you could purchase 2 samples of marmoleum and ask that they be interlocking (if you purchase online, write that request in the customer comments). The samples are a $1 each and are refundable if you return them or place a flooring order.
