I am using the Murco M100 drywall joint compound to do a skim coat over existing paint. I am planning on doing a coat of primer on the existing paint before adding the joint compound skim coat, and then another coat of primer over the joint compound before adding paint. Which type of primer would be best to use under the joint compound, and which would be best to go over the joint compound?

If the drywall underneath is new drywall we recommend the ECOS Interior Drywall Primer. this would also work on top of the skim coat since it will be a bit more absorbent, this will work the best.
