I have some worn wood flooring in my condo that I want to refinish in a safe way. I was wondering which products you recommend would be the simplest and safest to use. I was looking at the BioShield Hard Oil and AFM Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil because it says they are food grade, so I thought they would be good for flooring if you expect to be walking barefoot. However, I am not sure if they require long drying times and mechanical burnishing or sanding. Is here anything that can be applied that does not require burnishing? I would like to try to do the job myself.

We would recommend using either our Vermeister Zero VOC Polyurethane in this case. it is a non-toxic polyurethane that comes in matte or semi-gloss that will offer a lasting, protective finish and will not require burnishing. One gallon covers about 350 square feet. The Vermeister is zero VOC, has the least odor, and is best for freshly-sanded hardwood flooring.Any time you refinish a floor there is prep work involved, but these are easy products to apply. You would start by sanding off any existing coating. Then apply at least 3 coats of product, ideally with a lightweight floor (T-bar) applicator. Complete installation instructions are in the right hand margin under downloads, and if you like, there are YouTube videos find-able with a quick search.
