Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardware is made for hardwood flooring as well as other woodwork. It is primarily designed for surfaces with an oiled finish and not polyurethanes. That's because waxes need to penetrate into a porous surface and a polyurethane finish is not porous. Normally there is no need to apply a wax over a polyurethane unless it has worn off. In that case, it's best to apply additional coats of poly, not wax. We offer a non-toxic polyurethane called AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP which can be applied to most other water-based polyurethanes. Waxes usually wear off over time, just like polyurethanes, but faster. They can be stripped off but usually only need to be properly cleaned.
