Yes, this is 100% waterproof. We have done our own testing for 5 days submerged underwater with no change in weight, length, width or thickness. The finish was perfectly intact as well.Unlike most waterproof flooring, this product has many additional benefits which are especially useful for a basement such as: warmer (better thermal resistance), quieter (better noise cancelling properties), softer (more comfort underfoot), naturally fire resistant, naturally antimicrobial and most importantly zero VOC, zero formaldehyde and no PVC. It is also is the only floor with a negative carbon footprint.WaterProof cork requires a vapor barrier (6ml poly) beneath it but no underlayment (pad) is required. The subfloor needs to be smooth and flat as possible (3/16" deflection over 8' span). While this product is new, cork has been used for flooring for more than 100 + years. We've supplied hundreds of homeowners cork flooring for basements with excellent resultswithout the waterproofing! Now with Waterproof cork we can offer even more protection, beautiful wood visuals, and a more sustainable product. We offer a 3 sample boxes for $25 each with free shipping both ways and a $25 coupon towards purchase.
