What finish do you recommend for keeping pine floors as light as possible? Our 110 plus year old floors are old growth pine that show their nails (from being refinished too many times, by previous owners.) We would prefer to keep the light honey color of pine, and avoid too much darkening while at the same time preserving these antique floors, with a repairable finish if possible.

Assuming your floors have an oiled finish and not a water-based polyurethane finish, we would recommend the product you have chosen as well as any one of our AFM Safecoat or Bioshield Oils. These will honey the floor slightly if it is freshly sanded, but if you simply apply over your existing oil finish, the color may darken only slightly. Another option would be to simply wax the floor. This will have less of an affect on the color. We offer samples of most of our product to confirm color, adhesion and your own tolerance to the products.
