Ref: Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus 2C Interior Stain and Seal Kit. I would be using this on new plywood cabinetry inside my van. I plan to do all the sealing, staining, and curing of the wood pieces outside the van. My concern is spontaneous combustion of the cured oil-stained wood on a hot sunny 120 deg. F day when the interior surfaces baked by the sun can reach temperatures of over 180 deg. F. Will this be safe to use in this situation or should I only consider water-based sealers and stains?

There is no risk for spontaneous combustion once Oil Plus 2C is applied to the wood surface. The oily rags that are used during the application are absolutely a combustion danger. The rags should be soaked in water and then laid flat to dry. Once dry, they can be safely disposed. Or you can place them in a fire safe can that many wood shops have handy. But there should no issue with the wood treated with Oil Plus 2C spontaneously combusting.
