I am looking for some moisture protection on my new interior maple wood sills, with the purpose being better able to keep plant pots on them without water damaging the wood. 1) How helpful would this product be if the plants are in terracotta pots? 2) Can it be applied over your hard oil # 9?

Our VNC Ext. Penetrating Water Proofer will protect water from damage. However, it needs to be applied to a clean dry porous surface. If there is an existing sealer, regardless of whether it is water-based or oil-based, the Water Proofer will not penetrate. If your window sills are already sealed with Hard Oil #9 finish, we recommend applying more Hard OIl #9, or, you could apply Bioshield Floor & Furniture Hardwax.
