We do not recommend application with a sprayer because the dry chemistry will plug up the filters and wear the pump out.For best results please see this excerpt from the application instructions, which can be found on the right hand side of the product page, under the "download" column: "For best coverage, use a 3/4 nap paint roller and roll out the first coat perpendicular to (against) the grain. This allows the coating to work into the cracks and splinters, filling them up and locking them down. Allow to dry completely before applying the second coat (approx. 30 minutes to one hour). Between coats reseal lid and keep out of direct heat. Stir product often during application.Apply second coat in the opposite direction or parallel with the grain of the wood. The second coat is key to attaining the proper texture. A nap roller will produce a more aggressive surface in the second coat. A 3/8 nap roller will produce a less aggressive surface in the second coat.
