I am making a cupcake stand for a client. It will be a branched tree trunk holding cross-cut wood discs as the food platforms. I'm looking for something safe for food contact. Is this BioShield Wood Conditioner appropriate, does it require reapplication, and is a sample available?

That sounds like a cool project! The BioShield Wood Counter Finish is food grade and completely non-toxic. Reapplication depends on if the surface is being washed a lot, or if it's in the sun. Either of these may require additional applications over a year or two. You don't need to re-sand the wood to reapply the oil, so reapplication is easy. This product comes in an 8oz bottle. Unfortunately, we don't offer samples of it because it already comes in a fairly small size.
