Can I use this ONLY on the outside of a raised cedar vegetable garden bed? The inside would remain raw cedar. Would there be issues with soil moisture being trapped in the cedar boards this way?

We suggest you use the AFM Safecoat DynoSeal on the areas of your garden bed that will be under soil or covered by soil as this will protect the garden bed from breaking down or rotting from water and also protect the vegetables from anything leaching from the cedar. Then, on the exposed wood that is showing, you may certainly use the Vermont Natural Coatings stain to make it pretty!
