The Vermont Natural Coatings is great for fences. However, the clear options will not provide any UV ray protection so fading will occur more quickly. By choosing one of the colored options, you'll prolong the fading and degrading process. If some of the boards have rotted, no coating will be able to bring them back to a stable state, you'd want to replace those boards.
