In general terms, floating installs quicker and is a more manageable Do-It-Yourself (DIY) project, perfect for rooms above grade where there is NOT a lot of moisture, heat, or rough traffic and movement on the floors. Glue-down installation is for rooms that do have a lot of moisture, heat, and rough traffic and is also a must for below-grade installation on concrete slabs (i.e. basements). Glue down also involves more tools and set-up so it's a more advanced DIY level project or something to use outside contractors for.More details can be gleaned from the installation guidelines : https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/core/media/media.nl?id=1932894&c=772072&h=M
