While cork as a general rule is less heavy and less dense than hardwood, a lot of cork flooring (including Nova Cork) contains MDF/wood cores which makes cork flooring roughly the same weight per square foot +/- as hardwood floors.If you want lighter cork floor options, check out the waterproof cork flooring, which contains no wood at all.
