Taking a guess you mean "what kind of sealer would I put on a repainted chair?" If your wife used a water-based paint and you wished to seal over that, and this is a piece of interior furniture, I'd recommend AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP. If this is exterior furniture or a chair that spends time inside and outside, I would recommend AFM Safecoat EXT Exterior Polyureseal Clear.
