Yes, you can use a steam cleaner with distilled water. However, you should be careful not to focus the nozzle directly on the seams as excessive moisture may get between the planks. Marmoleum comes with a TopShield 2 sealer built into the surface, so you don't need much water to clean. Forbo recommends a very small amount of water, i.e. damp mop is all you need. Steam cleaners work well, but may not be necessary. Focus on prevention with rugs in front of and behind doorway entrances, pads under the furniture, and regular sweeping or vacuuming to remove the bulk of the dirt from your Forbo floor.                      To hide the necessary expansion gap between the edge of the floor and the wall you can install molding or a baseboard, gluing it to the wall, not the floor.
