Is it ok to use this on something that had been previously stained with linseed oil several years ago? Thank you!

The only way you'll know for sure is to properly clean the wood and then test using Aqua Resin Stain samples that you can purchase online. Sample testing will let you know if the linseed oil is gone enough for this to work. If there is still the presence of oil, the Aqua Resin Stain Finish will not stick properly.
