Will this seal in any VOCs like formaldehyde that occur naturally in pine/spruce wood? If so, can I use any paint as a topcoat (such as AFM SafeCoat)?

If the VOCs are from the natural smell of the terpenes from the wood then we DON'T have a product for that issue. If you are sure that it is from formaldehyde then the AFM Transitional primer (2 coats) and them the AFM zero VOC paint (2 coats). If it is the natural smell of the wood oils then this WILL NOT work for those smells.
