I want to use this sealer on my beehive. Do I need to use the Vermont Penetrating Exterior Stain before applying the water proofer? Or is the Water proofer with Juniper all you need to apply to the wood? I am debating if I need to purchase both products.

You can use one or the other, but you would not use both. The PolyWhey product has a topical aspect, which provides abrasion resistance as well as the waterproofing aspect. The Waterproofer is a penetrating product which only works on raw wood and provides a waterproofing finish without any topical aspect.
