The Vermont Natural Coating Penetrating Water Proofer is a water based product to be used on bare wood. If your furniture was not already stained, or if you were to sand it back raw, you use the Penetrating Water Proofer on your eucalyptus outdoor furniture for a good protective coating. A plant oil-based sealer, similar to what your mentioning of the raw linseed or tung oil, is the AFM SafeCoat Clear Penetrating Oil. However, it is not a sure bet that it would bond to the previously stained surface and a test should be performed. We provide sample sizes for testing purposes, available on each product page.
