It boils down to chemistry. Deck-Over and other competing treatments are Elastomeric, which is a fancy way of saying that they stretch, but the downside is they do not allow the wood to breathe. If moisture is in the wood, or manages to get in via a scratch or a missed application spot, this can lead to mold, rot, and failure from the inside out. DeckRevive by comparison is breathable, so it will not trap moisture or have the same moisture issues. Also, it requires a primer called PermaBond which insures a perfect bond with the substrate. As long as the installation requirements are followed, it will be warranted by the manufacturer.
