We do not recommend it as countertops are not meant to be painted. However, if you are bound and determined to do this outside the box thing, you will need to mildly sand the current substrate (making the assumption this is wood of some kind) so the paint has something to grip to. Then AFM Transitional Primer, followed by 2 coats of AFM Zero VOC paint, followed by 3 coats Polyureseal BP, please follow the application instructions in each case. Always use a cutting board on your new painted countertops, because the abrasion resistance will probably not hold up well to repeated knife cuts, etc. Again, this is outside the box, so good luck!
