Vermont's Penetrating Water Proofer will hold up very well in a covered space. Due to the porosity of the rough sawn wood, you will need much more product than normal, probably 1.5 to 2 X. Any areas exposed to the sun will require additional coatings every few years due to the UV rays. However, the rest of it that is protected from the sun will last as long as tung oil.
