This Vermont Natural Coatings Exterior Penetrating Water Proofer does not leave any finish over the top of the wood, it is a clear penetrating product that only does one thing, and that is protect the wood from water. If you wanted something to darken the color of the wood, we would recommend either Vermont PolyWhey Exterior Penetrating Stain or Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Exterior Wood Protector. Stains with pigment would help the wood stand up better to UV light. We have got samples of all of these so you can try them out and find the best result for your project.
