I am stuck with horrible wood cabinets with a dark, glossy finish that is chipped. I want to easily paint them, and I will not sand them first. Are any of your paints able to cover the horrible old stain, and go over it without sanding? How many coats should I be prepared to put on?

The answer is maybe. It all depends on the condition of the surface. The new paint needs to bond well and that often requires a light sanding to de-gloss the surface and give it some tooth. A primer is highly recommended as a first coat and then two to three coats of semi-gloss paint. ECOS Universal Primer plus 2-3 coats of ECOS Wall and Ceiling paint in semi-gloss finish. OR, AFM Transitional Primer and 2-3 coats of AFM Ecolacq. Both brands above can be tinted to any major brand of paint as well as their own colors.
