It depends on the context. Vermont Exterior Penetrating Water Proofer is a non-toxic product that is commonly used on everything from fence posts to swing sets, dog houses, chicken coops and bee hives... But it is not food-grade, and not meant to be used indoors. If your children or animals are prone toward licking and chewing on wooden surfaces, we have other food-grade products we would recommend over this one, such as AFM Safecoat Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil (for exterior or interior applications) or Bioshield Herbal Oil (for interior applications only).
