Our GBS Penetrating Concrete Sealer is designed to penetrate deep into concrete and seal from the inside. This requires that the concrete is very porous, dry and has a neutral pH. Exposed aggregate may have been power troweled, and if so, it may be very dense and non-porous. You have to test by spritzing some water droplets on the surface of the floor to see if it absorbs. If the concrete turns dark and the water soaks in quickly, then you are good to go. If, however, it sits there for 5-10 minutes and does not soak in, then you have two choices: use our MicroEtching compound to open the pores, clean thoroughly with water 3 times, let dry for a week, re-test, then use the GBS Penetrating Concrete Sealer; or, mechanically grind the surface to open the pores.
