Penetrating Water Proofer can be used on all properly prepared, unsealed wood exterior surfaces. So, it will not work over your stained exterior wood. If you are looking for a clear coat application over exterior water based stain, you may use the AFM Safecoat EXT. It is best to purchase small samples online first to test for adherence.
