Hello Juan, I think you are correct that the Vermont Natural Coatings containers are High Density Polyethylene and not metal. You should send your feedback to info@vermontnaturalcoatings.com and perhaps they can share with you why they have made this choice over metal cans. My sense is that HDPE is more durable and less susceptible to dents therefore causing less leaks. Further HDPE can be made from recycled materials and metal paint cans are harder to recycle.
