Just bought brand new kiln dried cedar rockers and want to seal them so they don't grey in color. Was recommended to use water based sealant? Will this protect well enough? It is on a covered porch facing East! Very well shaded.

The waterproofer does not protect against uv rays/graying of the wood. You will want to use a stain instead, the more pigment in the stain, the more protection against UV. Vermont makes a water based stain that would be a better fit for this project, PolyWhey Ext Penetrating Stain.
