The penetrating water proofer is formulated to go over raw wood only, it will not seal over paint.Provided your acrylic paint is water-based and not a gloss sheen, we do have a sealer that may work. We strongly recommend you test first (we sell samples exactly so you can test) to make sure you get a good bond and the desired finished appearance.AFM Safecoat EXT Exterior Polyureseal Clear would be my top choice for your project.
