We get asked this question all the time.For the exterior of the raised garden beds, we recommend the Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Exterior as it is both a penetrating water proofer and creates a durable coating on the surface. It is a stain and sealer all in one, plus it will offer a degree of UV protection, whereas the Penetrating Water Proofer will not.For the interior of the bed, the part covered by soil, we recommend the AFM SafeCoat Dynoseal. It is a waterproofing membrane that prevents moisture intrusion from the soil into the wood and stops leaching of the woods tannins into the soil. This has become a very popular product for raised garden beds.
