Are there any concerns with finishing a surface with Rubio Oil Plus 2C that is exposed to heat? I would like to refinish a mahogany fireplace mantle, and the piece can get warm/hot to the touch when the fire is going.

You will be happy to learn that Rubio tech support says it will be fine to refinish your mantle with the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C Kit in the color of your choice. They say the oil is not flammable after it dries. It also resists heat up to about 230 degrees Fahrenheit.
