You will want to lightly sand the surface to open the pores a little, then make sure to clean up any dust and debris before applying the new coating.
What are the steps to prepare a previously waxed or hard wax oiled floor for reapplication of hardwax oil or other like product? Is sanding down to bare wood necessary if staying with an oil/wax finish? Thanks Bioshield, Floor & Furniture Hardwax Stains and Sealers and Finishes
