Hi, I have 30 years of experience taking care of people with mobility impairments. The cork floors that we carry that I recommend to people with lower leg and foot pain, or who are at risk for falls, are our traditional cork floors, such as Wicanders Cork Go and Nova Cork. I can't comment on the Wicanders Cork Essence floors because we don't carry them.Yes, the Waterproof Cork CorkWISE floors are harder than traditional cork floors.Traditional cork floors like the Wicanders Cork Go and Nova Cork can last for decades, if cared for properly. Sweep or damp mop, instead of wet mopping. Wipe up spills promptly. The seams are tight, but if water seeps in, it could swell up the core of high density fiberboard. Put felt pads and rubber tips on chairs. Don't scrape things across the floor. With those simple tips, your traditional cork floor will give you many years of comfort and beauty.
