No. Penetrating Sealer #5 has to be able to penetrate, which means it will work over a raw sanded wood surface only.If you wanted to stain your floor, sand the wood first, then use a water-based stain option (such as AFM SafeCoat DuroTone) and then coat over that with a topical (non-penetrating) Polyureseal (such as AFM SafeCoat Polyureseal BP). The Poly option is our top recommendation if your floors get a lot of abuse.Another stain option would be to use an oil-based product like Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C kit. Sand floors, use Rubio, and you are done.
