I just applied this product to my cedar deck and I am having trouble with the sheen. Where the sections overlapped there is a thin line of sheen that is different than the rest. Is there anything that I can do about it, it doesn't look the greatest and unfortunately while I love most everything about this product I'm wishing I had used an oil. My next question is how long will this product hold up and when it is time to treat can I apply an oil overtop of this?

Keeping a wet edge eliminates lap marks. This product dries very quickly so you must apply in smaller areas in order to keep the wet edge. If you wish to take care of this issue now, lightly sanding the darker areas may be your only option. Generally this product will hold up 2-4 years on horizontal surfaces. The amount and angle of the sun plays a major role as does the amount of pigment used. This is a water based product, oil will not be able to be applied for a few years on top as water and oil do not mix.
